Frequently Asked Questions

Do you charge for plumbing estimates?

We provide free estimates online when you send us photos or details by text or email. For straightforward requests (like water heater replacements or faucet installations), we can usually quote without an in-home visit.

For more complex issues that require on-site diagnostics and problem solving, we charge a consultation fee. This isn’t just a “trip fee” — it’s hands-on diagnostic work to locate and identify the issue.

Consultation fees start at $165 but can vary depending on the complexity of the problem.

Example: A simple ceiling leak inspection is different from tracking down a hidden line inside spray foam insulation or a tight crawlspace that requires specialized equipment.

If you move forward with our repair or replacement quote, the consultation fee is credited toward the total cost of the job.

The fee only applies if you decide to use the consultation alone and decline further service.

How much does it cost to replace a water heater in Kingwood?

Water heater replacements in Kingwood typically range from $2,200–$3,200 for a standard tank-type unit. The price depends on the size of the tank, the location of the unit, and the code upgrades required for a safe installation.

  • Easiest installs: A garage water heater with most code updates already in place will be on the lower end of the range.

  • More complex installs: A water heater located in the attic of a two-story home, especially if it’s across the attic from the access point and requires carrying the tank over a furnace or tight areas, will be at the higher end due to extra labor and safety measures.

For tankless water heaters, pricing is higher but offers benefits like endless hot water and improved energy efficiency.

How much does it cost to install a tankless water heater in Kingwood?

Tankless water heater installations in Kingwood typically start at $6,500 and go up from there, depending on the upgrades required for your home. Tankless systems aren’t a simple swap — they require major retrofits to work safely and efficiently.

  • Gas line sizing: Most homes need larger gas lines to supply the higher BTU demand of tankless units.

  • Venting: Tankless heaters require dedicated venting, often with stainless or special PVC systems.

  • Electrical & spacing: Some homes need new outlets, breaker adjustments, or dedicated wall/attic space.

  • Conversion vs. replacement: Replacing an existing tankless is typically less expensive than converting from a tank system for the first time.

Tankless systems are a bigger upfront investment, but they provide endless hot water, energy savings, and space efficiency compared to traditional tanks.

My faucet is dripping — should I fix it or replace it?

A dripping faucet can waste hundreds of gallons of water a year. In many cases, we can repair the cartridge or seals. However, if your faucet is older, replacement is often the smarter investment for long-term reliability.

When replacing a faucet, it’s also important to consider the supply stops, supply lines, and (for vanity faucets) the drain assembly. These components age just like the faucet itself, and leaving old parts in place increases the risk of leaks or failures.

As plumbers, we typically recommend replacing these parts along with the faucet to:

  • Manage liability and protect against leaks.

  • Ensure all components match the new trim and finish.

  • Give you a fresh, leak-free installation that lasts.

We install and service all major faucet brands, including Moen, Delta, and others trusted for durability.

  1. Avoid egg shells, pasta, and coffee grounds.
